Turn On the Light

by Karen Resèndiz

Have you ever felt stuck in a dark cave, and you're not able to see the light even after many attempts? I think we’ve all been there at least once. I used to be stuck in a dark and lonely cave. I still don´t know exactly how I got there and how long I stayed there, but I know it was long enough to want to come out to the light. There are times in our life when all we see is darkness, pain, betrayal, and loneliness; but today I want to tell you that there’s a light switch very close to you.

IT'S ALL ABOUT SHEEP

One day, some religious people asked Jesus: Why do you welcome sinners and spend so much time with them? Jesus replied: “Suppose one of you has a hundred sheep and loses one of them. Doesn’t he leave the ninety-nine in the open country and go after the lost sheep until he finds it? And when he finds it, he joyfully puts it on his shoulders and goes home. Then he calls his friends and neighbors together and says, ‘Rejoice with me; I have found my lost sheep.’ I tell you that in the same way there will be more rejoicing in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who do not need to repent.”

Jesus came to the world to bring hope to the hopeless, to
turn the light on, and shut the darkness with his joy and peace. His love is so great that it covers all who want to receive it. The Bible says that Jesus came so that we may have life, and have it to the fullest. He is the good shepherd. The good shepherd that lays down his life for the sheep. He came to rescue the ones that are not in the sheep pen. He came to rescue the one that is lost in shame, guilt, depression, hopelessness, and lack of purpose. He came to rescue you and me. He does not care what others think or say, He wants to find you, He wants to heal you, He wants to love you!

THE LIGHT IN YOUR HEART

And you know what? Our strip club ministries are God's agents to turn that light switch on, so that you may experience God’s great love. He does not mind going into dark places, He doesn’t mind going into the cave of depression, He will not bring shame and guilt to you. He will actually do the opposite! Jesus wants to meet you, take the burdens off your shoulders and welcome you with a big hug. Jesus wants to love you like no one ever has loved you. He wants to deeply understand you, and heal your wounds. He is the light in the darkness…and He can be the light in your heart. Would you be willing the hear his voice? Would you like to step out of the darkness that pushes you down slowly? He is waiting for you! If you are “the one” that is lost, confused, hurt and wandering off (like I was)…He will leave the 99 and come after you!

RECKLESS LOVE

There is a song that I love by Cody Asbury called Reckless Love. It talks about the lengths to which God will go to to let us know how much He loves us. The song says He will climb mountains, knock down walls, leave the 99...even though we don't deserve it, all because of how much He loves us.

This kind of love is available for you, anytime! Will you let him turn on the light switch?
